EOG College Football Sports Betting Preview: Central Michigan Chippewas vs Ball State Cardinals
The Central Michigan Chippewas (8-2 SU, 7-2 ATS) will look to maintain their undefeated mark in conference play when they travel to Muncie to take on the Ball State Cardinals (1-9 SU, 5-4 ATS) in a MAC betting affair. Last Wednesday, Central Michigan used a huge second quarter to blow the doors off of Toledo in a 56-28 college football wagering victory. As for Ball State, the Cardinals have covered their last two after a six point loss to Northern Illinois was enough to give Ball State betting fans the cover last Thursday.
Though Toledo had a 14-7 lead early in the second quarter, QB Dan LeFevour and the Central Michigan defense responded with 49 unanswered to give the Chippewas an easy CFB betting win. LeFevour was magnificent on Wednesday, completing 29 of 36 passes for 341 yards with two touchdowns while also running for four touchdowns from the two yard line. LeFevour's six touchdowns on the day almost single-handedly covered the spread against the Rockets. It wasn't just the Dan LeFevour show, as other Chippewas put up good numbers. WR Antonio Brown caught 13 passes for 129 yards and a touchdown for Central Michigan betting enthusiasts while RB Bryan Schroeder carried the ball 13 times for 105 yards and two touchdowns. The aforementioned Central Michigan defense contributed as well despite allowing 353 total yards by forcing five turnovers from Toledo on the night.
Ball State's defense did their part last Thursday night when they held the Northern Illinois offense to just 225 total yards, but their offense just couldn't do enough as they fell to 1-9 on the year. This year has been a nightmare for Cardinals fans, after a dream 2008 season. The loss of HC Brady Hoke and QB Nate Davis have seemed to hurt the team exponentially as current HC Stan Parrish has been unable to come up with a winning combination this year. QB Tanner Justice hasn't looked bad since Kelly Page suffered a season-ending injury though, completing 11 of 19 passes for 134 yards and a touchdown against Northern Illinois last week. College football betting fans might be wondering what happened to QB MiQuale Lewis though as Lewis does not look like he will even break 1000 yards rushing this year after racking up 1736 yards and 22 touchdowns in 2008.
NCAA football gambling odds have Central Michigan as a 14.5 point favorite in this game with a total of 49.5 points.
