EOG College Football Sports Betting Preview: Oregon Ducks vs Arizona Wildcats
Two teams who both control their own destiny for the Pac-10 title meet up in a pseudo-elimination game on Saturday night when the Oregon Ducks (8-2 SU, 7-3 ATS) travel to Tucson to take on the Arizona Wildcats (6-3 SU, 4-4 ATS) in a college football gambling showdown. Oregon has bounced back tremendously after disappointing performances against Boise State and Purdue to start the season, and has won seven of their last eight games ATS for Oregon betting fans. As for Arizona, the Wildcats were outplayed in Berkeley last week in an eight point sports gambling loss.
Few teams have improved throughout the season as much as the Oregon Ducks have. At the start of the season, it looked like they would be lucky to make a bowl, but a win this week puts them in the driver's seat to take on Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. QB Jeremiah Masoli has been lethal through the air and on the ground, with 11 passing touchdowns and nine rushing touchdowns so far this season. Masoli again had a quality outing in the Ducks' CFB betting win against Arizona State last Saturday, completing 10 of 20 passes for 120 yards with two touchdowns and an interception while carrying the ball seven times for 67 yards. The star of the game though was RB LaMichael James who rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries in Oregon's NCAA football gambling victory.
Arizona has relied on being solid on both sides of the ball this season under HC Mike Stoops. The Wildcats are currently averaging a solid 429 YPG and 30.4 PPG while only allowing 305 YPG and 22.2 PPG. Last week against Cal though, the Wildcats offense mostly sputtered. QB Nick Foles was able to complete 25 of 41 passes but for only 201 yards with a TD and an INT. RB Keola Antolin meanwhile was only able to carry the ball for 78 yards and a score on 19 carries for Zona in their college football betting defeat. The Wildcats defense didn't help matters by allowing Cal to pick up 357 yards on them but did force two interceptions out of Cal QB Kevin Riley.
The NCAA gambling odds have the Ducks as a six point road favorite against Arizona with a posted total of 57.5 points. Gamblers seem to expect a lower scoring game than the books initially thought as the over/under opened at 60.
